2023 SPRING TRY-OUTS

2023 SPRING TRYOUTS ARE JANUARY 13TH & 14TH. PLAYERS TRYING OUT ONLY NEED TO ATTEND 1 TRYOUT SESSION. NO NEED TO ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS.

Tryout Schedule

Friday, January 13th:
· Minor league players ages 7- 8 check-in 5pm. Warmups immediately following on field 2. Tryout begins at 6pm on field 1.
· Minor/Majors League player ages 9-10 check-in 6pm. Warmups immediately following on field 2. Tryout begins at 7pm on field 1.
· Major League players ages 11-12 check-in 7pm. Warmups immediately following on field 2. Tryout begins at 8pm.
***Due to the uncertainty of attendance, times may vary.

Saturday, January 14th
- Minor league players ages 7- 9 check-in 8:00am. Warmups immediately following on field 2. Tryout begins at 9:00 am on field 1.
- Minor/Majors League players ages 10-12 check-in 9:30am. Warmups immediately following on field 2. Tryout begins at 10:30 am on field 1.
***Due to the uncertainty of attendance, times may vary.

*Please check in promptly at the times given. Your player will receive a sticker with their tryout number on it.
*Once your player is checked in, please have them head to field two - where a board member will be supervising warmups.
*Managers and coaches only on the field. No parents are allowed on the field during the tryout. No parents are allowed near the bleachers where the players are waiting to tryout. A board member will be there to supervise the players.

Tryout Breakdown

Part 1: Fielding
1. Player will take the field at shortstop. Player will field 3 ground balls and throw those to an awaiting player at first base.
2. Player will then go to left field and receive 3 fly balls and will throw to second base (7-9 age), will throw to first base (10-12 age).
3. Player will then go to first base and catch the balls being thrown from the following player at shortstop.

Part 2: Batting
Following the completion of part 1, players of the same age group will then prepare to bat.
1. Player will be given 4 attempts to hit from a live pitcher.
2. Following their 4th attempt, player will run from home plate, round first, and touch second base. Your player will be timed . From second base they will return to the dugout, gather their belongings and are dismissed for the evening.

***Players will be drafted on Saturday after the end of tryouts. Players will be notified within 48 hours of the draft of their team. ***
